Bethlehem Township Bethlehem Township is a municipality in the Lehigh Valley region of eastern Pennsylvania. With a population of 25,868 (2020 census), Bethlehem Township is organized as a first-class township under Pennsylvania law.

Founded in 1746, Bethlehem Township for more than two centuries was a largely rural and agricultural community located between the cities of Bethlehem and Easton. Since the 1960s, the township has been one of the fastest-growing municipalities in Pennsylvania. The township's population has nearly tripled over that time period, with substantial growth in residential, commercial, and industrial development.

Today Bethlehem Township is a vibrant, dynamic, and diverse community with strong neighborhoods, thriving businesses, and ample recreational opportunities. Quiet idyllic residential areas are just a short drive away from bustling industrial parks and retail corridors. Situated in the heart of the growing Lehigh Valley, the township offers easy multi-modal transportation access to New York City, Philadelphia, and the U.S. eastern seaboard.

The governing body of Bethlehem Township is a five-member elected Board of Commissioners. The township's day-to-day operations are led by an appointed township manager and a staff of approximately 90 full-time employees and more than 150 part-time employees.

The township's extensive parks system is highlighted by the Municipal Park on Farmersville Road, site of ballfields, playgrounds, a walking/running trail, an outdoor and indoor pool, and the township's state-of-the-art Community Center, opened in 2006. The township's roads, parks, buildings, and infrastructure are managed and maintained by the Public Works Department and the Physical Plant and Information Services Department.

The Bethlehem Township Police Department, with 34 full-time officers, maintains the safety and security of the municipality. Fire services are provided by two volunteer organizations, the Nancy Run Fire Company and the Bethlehem Township Volunteer Fire Company. Emergency medical services are provided by paid professional staff operating under the auspices of the Bethlehem Township Volunteer Fire Company.
