The Bethlehem Township Community Development Department includes the Township’s planning, construction, fire marshal, zoning and permitting offices.
The Department is responsible for administration of the subdivision and land development process, construction permitting and inspections, zoning ordinance administration and fire code compliance, among others. Community Development staff coordinate with the Township manager, engineer, solicitor, Planning Commission and Zoning Hearing Board on activities related to planning, construction, zoning and permitting.
Community Development staff also work with FEMA, Northampton County and State agencies – such as the Department of Transportation and the Department of Environmental Protection – to carry out the intent of local, state and federal regulations in support of the long-term sustainability of the Township.
