Full-Time Physical Plant Division (PPIS) Position. The Bethlehem Township Physical Plant Division (PPIS) currently has a vacant full-time system operator position.

Applicants must possess a mechanical aptitude and a willingness to work in the wastewater and building maintenance industry. Work generally consists of: wastewater utility, mechanical systems, electrical, and control system operations and maintenance.

The successful applicant will be provided training in order to perform all aspects of the position. Securing a PA CDL, PADEP operator certification, and multiple OSHA certifications will be required in order to be considered for future upgrades and advancement.

Training will include; understanding how to inspect, maintain, and repair wastewater facilities. The successful applicant during the training period will be under direct supervision, until able to work independently.

Applicants should also possess a good understanding of personal and hand-held computer operations. A valid PA State driver’s license is required. Applicants must possess no less than a diploma from an accredited high school or a GED. Future stand-by (compensated) rotation is mandatory, once training is complete. Bargaining unit position, starting wage is $21.30 per hour, or higher for more experienced candidates. Excellent benefits and work environment.

Full-Time Public Works Position. Requires heavy manual work, outdoors in all weather. Operating lawn cutting and snow removal equipment. Knowledge of construction work, pipe laying, masonry, paving, and landscaping a plus. Valid PA drivers license required. Must possess a CDL Class B for hire. Bargaining unit position, excellent compensation package, starting rate $21.27, higher for experienced candidates, automatic step increases. Position qualifies for fringe benefits.
